Lil Wayne Facing 1-Year In Prison

Lil men usually don't fare too well in prison

Atheist rapper Lil Wayne has been sentenced to 1-year in prison on illegal gun possession charges. He pled guilty today in a New York court. This is not the rapper's first brush with the law, as he was previously arrested for drug possession.

It's time for Lil Wayne to shed that dangerous lifestyle he glorifies in his music and attempts to live out in his personal life, as he has children and more on the way. It's difficult to be a dad when you are in prison.

Forsaking the Bible for the dictionary, as you claim, was also unwise, as the dictionary can't save you, but Jesus can.

Lil Wayne pleads to attempted gun possession

NEW YORK — Lil Wayne, who owned last year's best-selling album and is currently No. 1 on the pop charts, pleaded guilty to attempted weapon possession on Thursday, and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence.

The performer, arguably rap's most popular artist and one of pop's biggest acts, previously had pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession charges that carried at least 3 1/2 years in jail upon conviction. He remains free on bail while awaiting his February sentencing...

Stalker Gets 40 Years In Prison

A New York man has been sentenced to 40-years in prison for international stalking, harassment and witness tampering (he must be related to Madonna).

It is amazing how far some stalkers go, completely disregarding the law, whilst growing totally reckless, careless and sloppy with their crimes against innocent people, to the point it leaves so much evidence behind, revealing beyond the shadow of a doubt, they are undoubtedly guilty.

Bronx Man Sentenced to 40 Years in Prison For International Stalking, Harassment, and Witness Tampering

...She traveled to a relative's home in Virginia, where JORDAN began stalking her, threatening to kill or injure members of her family and other individuals close to her. JORDAN also harassed Victim- 1, as well as her family and loved ones, through false and malicious internet postings. JORDAN's campaign of harassment forced Victim-1 to flee from the United States to the United Kingdom.

JORDAN's threats and harassment continued after Victim- 1 fled to the United Kingdom. Specifically, JORDAN sent numerous threatening emails, facsimiles, and text messages to Victim-1, another victim ("Victim-2"), and others in which he, among other things, threatened to kill or injure Victim-1 and Victim-2, attack Victim-2's residence and kidnap Victim-1. After a coordinated response from law enforcement, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the defendant was arrested in Manhattan on January 11, 2008. JORDAN sent numerous letters from prison to Victim-1 and others in an attempt to threaten, corruptly persuade, and mislead Victim-1 and Victim-2 into withholding or altering their trial testimony.

On October 16, 2008, following a two-week jury trial, the defendant was found guilty of all five counts on which he was tried, including: making threatening interstate communications; threatening an internationally-protected person (Victim-2); interstate stalking; and two counts of witness tampering.

In imposing sentence, Judge COTE noted the "great harm to the victims in this case," and the "need for severe punishment." The Judge also recommended that the Bureau of Prisons impose restrictive conditions of confinement to prevent JORDAN from communicating with any of his victims.

Mr. BHARARA praised the investigative work of the FBI and the Joint Bank Robbery Task Force, which also handles matters involving fugitives and threats. The task force is composed of agents and officers of the FBI, the United States Marshals Service and the New York City Police Department. Mr. BHARARA also thanked the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the London Metropolitan Police at New Scotland Yard, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, and the Northwestern District Attorney's Office of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for their assistance with the apprehension, investigation and prosecution of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney HOWARD S. MASTER is in charge of the prosecution.

Seven charges remain pending against the defendant, including allegedly participating in a scheme to steal individuals' identities using a fraudulent charitable website, and allegedly using those identities to engage in further illegal conduct. Those remaining charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent of those charges unless and until proven guilty.

Obama Slams Release Of Lockerbie Bomber

The Obamas looking very sharp

U.S. President, Barack Obama, has slammed the release of Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, from Scotland to his home country of Libya.

He is suffering from cancer and reportedly has three months to live. Britain is known for its compassion in such issues and as such, Scotland released him after serving 8 years in prison, to go home to die.

In 1998, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, blew up an airliner, killing 270 people, among them American college students. He was the only man apprehended and convicted for what is thought to be a conspiratorial terrorist act.

A large group of Libyans greeted, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, cheering his arrival in Tripoli, Libya. The Scottish government is being criticized for releasing him, even by the Conservative party in England, who denounced the move.

Compassion is a great trait. However, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, is a convicted mass murderer, who could have received medical care in prison, while paying his debt to society.

Releasing him has rubbed salt in the wounds of his victims' families and friends, who didn't get to tell their loved ones goodbye, a courtesy he has been afforded.

Barack Obama leads condemnation of Scotland for freeing Lockerbie bomber

10:00PM BST 20 Aug 2009 - The US President’s criticism of the “mistake” added to a growing backlash against the Scottish decision to free the biggest mass murderer in British legal history on compassionate grounds.

Hours after the Scottish National Party administration in Edinburgh announced its decision to free him, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, the only man convicted of the 1988 atrocity, flew home to a hero’s welcome in Tripoli.

Megrahi, a former Libyan intelligence agent, has terminal prostate cancer and has less than three months to live. Kenny MacAskill, the Scottish justice minister, said freeing him showed Scotland’s “humanity.”

Despite his illness, Megrahi, 57, managed to walk unaided up the steps of the plane at Glasgow airport, his face hidden by a white baseball cap.

After he left Scottish soil, Megrahi, who has served just eight years of a 27-year sentence, released a statement protesting his innocence and expressing his “sympathy” for the families of the 270 people he was convicted of killing.

The US government condemned the decision to release him, as did US relatives of some of the victims of the 1988 atrocity...
