Racist judge, Keith Bardwell, who refused to give an interracial couple a marriage license and in doing so, violated the law, has resigned from his post. Under the circumstances, it is best he vacate his post.

BATON ROUGE, La. – A Louisiana justice of the peace who refused to marry a couple because the bride was white and groom was black resigned Tuesday.

Keith Bardwell, who is white, quit the post with a one-sentence statement to Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne and no explanation of his decision: "I do hereby resign the office of Justice of the Peace for the Eighth Ward of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, effective November 3, 2009."

Bardwell refused to perform the ceremony for Beth Humphrey and Terence McKay because they are of different races...

Keith Bardwell, the Louisiana judge that violated federal law and the Civil Rights Act, in refusing to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple, has refused to apologize. Simply put, he should not be voted back in office.

He stated, “It’s kind of hard to apologize for something that really and truly down in your heart you don’t feel you’ve done wrong. I don’t regret what I did and if it ever came up again, I’d have to do the same thing.”

It's nothing more than the racist judge took one look at blonde Humphrey and got mad thinking, this white woman should not be marrying this black man. However, Bardwell is fighting a losing battle, as there are millions of married interracial couples out there. At the end of the day, it is none of his business and someone needs to give them the marriage license.

A justice of the peace in Louisiana, Republican, Judge Keith Bardwell, refused to marry an interracial couple, in violation of a 1967 Supreme Court ruling. How racist.

It reminds me of what happened in the Bible regarding Moses, who was criticized by Miriam, for marrying a dark skinned woman, which provoked God's anger. God doesn't approve of racism.
